This posting for me has gone to the bats, vampire bats that is. I reviewed the cutest little book for toddlers which you should totally VIEW. That got me on a tangent on some games that maybe we could play that included bats.
I found this one first HALLOWEEN BATS Game 1 It took me a moment to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. I let out a small scream when I realized I simply sucked at the game. (Did you catch what I did there? No? sigh)
This next game I found was entitled the exact same as the first one but a totally different game. HALLOWEEN BATS Game 2 This game the user gets to splat some bats while avoiding other Halloween characters. A little blood may be spilled but nothing too scary.
I found other games too but not online. I may share those at another time. By the way, did you notice the top game? It is strictly for cats. Well, our familiars need to fun too!
In the past few weeks, I have been doing artsy/crafty projects to prepare and get ready for Halloween season. I have also been catching up with my Halloween reading. Here is a new book review for babies and toddlers. We all know it is a season/lifestyle and not just one day! Sheesh, people who say that are off their gourd.
I started off with this tshirt I made in a group I belong too. It is based off of a painting I did last year...Egyptian god fused with a Frankenstein Monster. So fun!
I just wish this "snow globe" actually had water in it. Weird, I know.
This was not my style but a cute project (and quick) to do in the same group.
I did 10 days of junk journaling. I stopped after the 10 but oh so fun!
Wow, ya all. It is already October 13th and I have been MIA. I simply got caught up in some spider web and have not posted. What boo sheet is that? Ugh.
Anyway, for your listening pleasure, I though a little brain song in ASL would help.
BRAINS...
Uh, oh, I hear zombies. I will be better, I promise! ~Crypt Keeper, Michelle
You know what is scary? SPAM! No, not the kind you eat, well I guess you would if you were a zombie. But no, the kind where someone has just taken over your comment section with completely stupid stuff. Just before I came to blog today, I had to delete an entire month of the same comment. SERIOUSLY ANNOYING! At least write something about Halloween. UGH!
Anyway...
Today I am sharing my first two Halloween kid's reads. The links are as follows. If you want to see two cute ones to start out my reads, then these are them.
Hello one and all and you faboolus crypt keepers. I am back this year after a 1 year haitus and I couldn't be happier. This year I will have an eclectic mix of things and of course a whole load of fun.
Hey Zombie Friendly People! I do realize it is Wednesday and music was to be posted on Monday. Remember though, zombies can be slow so we are just catching up.
Those great gals over on the 4M's felt the theme this week should be dancing in the dark or music in the dark. Something like that. Hey, I am hungry so, ya know. Need brains! I digress.
First song seems perfect to dance to. Bruce!
Next up dancing with monster friends.
Finally, if you are scared you should dance.
Link up and have some fun! ~Master Crypt Keeper, Michelle
Well, hi my favorite spooks! I have missed a few days but was trying desperately to get the Countdown blog fixed. I finally did that so I can get in now on the fun more.
This week, like every week, Monday's Music Moves Me boils and ghouls spin some tunes. It has been so long since I played, I bet they think I don't like them anymore. Oh, but I boo! (see what I did there.)
Anyway, this week is freebie week so let's go!
The theme for the Halloween Countdown this year is Grave Yard Smash. So guess what me first tune is?
Well, who else is dancing in the grave yard? Hmm..maybe these guys are rattling.
Then there are these "folks".
The zombies crashed the party and some are not happy.
No dance party in a grave yard can be complete without drinks.
Hey! Welcome to my crypt. This is where zombies and all sorts of creatures hang out and have fun. You never know who or what is going to show up here so, come back often.
I am 4 days late getting the crypt open for the 2023 season. Ugh! However, that only means twice the fun. Ey?
Ok, so it is Wednesday and I thought we should have a Wednesday dance party. Makes sense right?
Let's go!
The whole family gets in the groove. Check out Thing!
Lurch, he had to take dance lessons but look at that smooth dancer. See you tomorrow!
A vampire is a mythical creature that subsists by feeding on the vital essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living. In European folklore, vampires are undead creatures that often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited while they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early 19th century.
*The earliest confirmed record of the word vampire in English dates from 1688, with a lack of explanation of its meaning suggesting it was in regular use.
*. Burying a corpse upside-down was widespread, as was placing earthly objects, such as scythes or sickles
*One method of finding a vampire's grave involved leading a virgin boy through a graveyard or church grounds on a virgin stallion—the horse would supposedly balk at the grave in question
*Some traditions also hold that a vampire cannot enter a house unless invited by the owner; after the first invitation they can come and go as they please.
*Methods of destroying suspected vampires varied, with staking the most commonly cited method, particularly in South Slavic cultures
Hello my Zombie friends. It is time to get down and dance with the Monday's Music Moves Me folks. As the theme this week is whatever we want to play, you know it is going to be Halloween stuff from me. But what? Hmm...
Link up!
First up: I truly love it when the skeletons rattle their bones to some Disney dancing.
Next: Did you all ever see Lurch dance? He did with Wednesday!
Finally: Witches enjoy dancing and singing like these do.
For the next few days I am presenting to you some facts that I have found around the blogsphere. I am going to start with (of course)...
ZOMBIES:
Zombies may have the trademark zombie limp because their bodies are affected by the same decomposition process as any normal corpse. Additionally, rigor mortis would cause serious tissue and muscle damage at the zombie’s each step. Since zombies do not regenerate or heal, any damage is permanent. Eventually, a zombies’ top speed would be reduced to a crawl and perhaps even slow to the point where it could not move. ~Source: www.factretriever.com/zombie-facts
Bonus : There is a law in Haiti that makes it a crime to turn someone into a zombie. Article 249 states that if someone drugs another person, buries him as though he were dead, and then digs the person up and brings him back to life, it is still considered murder. Wow, good to know!
Hello, and welcome back to Monday's Music Moves Me. This was an original brainchild of Marie Moody aka Xmas Dolly. It is now hosted by Cathy from Curious As A Cathy, Stacy from Stacy Uncorked, and Alana. I used to be a co-host too but it has been a long time.
Anyway, there is always something to dance and sing about here so come on in and join the fun. This week is sans theme which means I get to post whatever music is on my mind. Since, I like brains, this might be a lot or a little. I don't know. So, let's see what I've got.
First up: Most people know Michael Jackson for his Halloween song, "Thriller" but people do not know as much about this spooky one too.
Next up: I posted this on my Facebook fan page (shameless plug for my page, uh hmm) the other day but did not post it here. I would be amiss if I did not post these fun zombies dancing the "Thriller" dance! (Note: This is a TikTok video)
Oops...I missed a few days on this blog. Ah, well, what is a zombie supposed to do, we move slow, unless we are dancing that is. Anyway, just a couple of funny cartoons found around the blogsphere.
I thought I would share this here as not all children (as we well know) are alike. Some of our little zombies have allergies to candy and treats but still want to get in on the fun. Check out the Teal Pumpkin Project. It has been around for years but often gets mixed in with children who are autistic. I am here to clear out some cobwebs and set the record straight because I have grand-monsters who fall under both categories.
It has been a long time since I played along with the gals over at Monday's Music Moves Me. I thought maybe it would be fun to do so for October. So, I went over and checked out what the theme for is this week.
It is actually "Bounty." Now, I am sure they mean of the Thanksgiving kind but hey, it is October and I can interpret like I want. Right? So, here is how I am creeping it real. Enjoy my spookier version of the theme.
~Master Crypt Keeper, Michelle
First up: This is a song about a man on the run after protecting his beloved.
Next: This one...ah, well...the music gives spooky vibes but the video. ;)
I got such a kick out of the zombie dance yesterday that I went looking for more. It turns out I found a whole score of music! Listen to this. Can you feel the zombie movement?
Here is another funky zombie dance. Check this one out.
